Director, Embryogenesis, Greece
Born and raised in Kos, Dr Minas Mastrominas graduated from the Medical University of Thessaloniki in 1980. After the completion of his military service, he finished his residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1989 at the University of Athens.
From 1989 to 1991 he worked in the IVF unit of Hammersmith Hospital in London along with pioneers of human reproduction and in vitro fertilisation like Prof. Edwards. In 1992 he was pointed Director in the Department of IVF at Mitera Maternity Hospital. Since 1994, he founded and directs Embryogenesis, the largest IVF center in Greece.
He has performed more than 40,000 IVF attempts, and has been successful on more than 20,000 occasions. In 1995 was awarded a proficiency by the European Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics. He has authored numerous articles in Greek and international journals of his specialty. He is a member of the Board of the Greek Society of Fertility and the Hippocratic Foundation of Kos. Also, a member of the European Fertility Society, the American Fertility Society.
